[ARCHIVED] 2025 Leaf Collection

For Public Release

2025 Leaf Collection

Collection of Loose Leaves

On November 3rd the Street Department will tentatively begin its annual leaf pickup program collecting large piles of leaves that are raked out to the curb lawn through-out the city. In an effort to test equipment and train new employees, residents will see leaf crews picking up bulk piles this first week. This will not be considered the start of the first round of pick up. That will start the following week. Residents are reminded again not to put piles of leaves in the streets as it does cause a road hazard and can be cited by the police, please refer to Codified Ordinances 937.05 and 311.01(d).

Please remember leaves cannot be picked up where cars are in front of the piles. Residents are also reminded not to put anything in with the leaves such as garbage, shrubs, tree limbs or yard waste as they will not be picked up. This type of debris will not go through the machine. Leaves must be placed in the curb lawn to be picked up. City crews will proceed through each section one time. A second sweep through each section will only happen if weather conditions remain favorable. Residents can place bagged leaves out along with their regular trash and will be picked up by Kimble Refuse on their regular scheduled trash pick-up day in the event two complete rounds is not possible.

Areas of collection and their order are as follows:

            (1) West of Sawburg, Main to State

            (2) Rockhill to Sawburg, Main to State

            (3) South of State, west of Rockhill

            (4) South of State, east of Rockhill

            (5) Rockhill to Union, Main to State

            (6) North of Main, west of Union

            (7) North of Main, east of Union

            (8) East of Union, Main to State

Attempts will be made to keep the public notified through the local media, City website and social media as to where the crews are working. Inquiries should be directed to the Street Department at (330) 823-3133 Monday thru Friday from 7am to 3pm.
