Our department has received notification from the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) that we have been awarded national accreditation status. PHAB is the sole national accrediting body for state, local, Tribal and territory/freely associated state public health departments in the country. The accreditation process involved the rigorous evaluation against over 100 national standards in areas such as health promotion, disease prevention, emergency preparedness and community engagement. This demonstrates our department's commitment and dedication to excellence, accountability and ongoing improvement in public health practices.
