Alliance Wastewater Treatment Plant

The Alliance Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) has been located at 12251 Rockhill Avenue, North East since 1929. The Alliance WWTP treats domestic, commercial, and industrial wastewater from the City and surrounding areas.

The plant has a design capacity of 7.5 Million Gallons per Day (MGD) and currently treats an average daily flow of 5.5 MGD. During storm events the plant can treat flows up to 32 MGD. The final effluent from the treatment plant is discharged into the Mahoning River at the head works of Berlin Reservoir and the biosolids removed by the treatment process are applied to farm land for beneficial reuse.
