Public Health Nursing
Services - Public Health Nursing Immunization Clinic - Conducted on Monday, Tuesday and Friday by appointment. All childhood immunizations administered. Fee is $5.00 but no one is refused service for failure to pay. ![]() Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Food Program - Conducted daily. This is a supplemental food program that helps eligible pregnant, breast feeding and postpartum women, infants and children up to age 5 who are at risk for health problems. WIC provides food rich in calcium, iron and protein. WIC promotes breast feeding, which is accomplished through individual and group counseling. Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic - Conducted on Thursday each week. Prefer appointments but walk-ins are welcome. Tuberculosis Skin Testing - Conducted on Tuesday each week. The fee is $5.00 but no one is refused service for failure to pay. Communicable Disease Investigation - Follow up
individuals reported with communicable diseases and their contacts to prevent
the spread of the disease.
Influenza Clinics - Yearly clinics conducted starting
in October of each year for those 65 years of age and older and anyone
with a chronic medical condition such as heart disease, kidney disease
or diabetes. The service is free for individuals enrolled in Medicare Part
B. All others the fee is $5.00. No one is refused service for failure to
pay
Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps (BCMH) -
Home visits provided to children on the program. Assessments and follow-up
provided by the public health nurse.
Car Seats for Kids - Education program provided
to parents regarding proper use of car seats. Car seats distributed to
parents. WIC income guidelines used for distribution of car seats.
Welcome Home Newborn Visitation Program - Public
health nursing visit to any new mother upon request.
Healthy Start Expansion Program - Assistance provided
to families in the application process and provide referrals..
