MINUTES OF THE MAY 3, 2010

SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ALLIANCE CITY COUNCIL

The meeting was called to order by President Benincasa at 9:00 A.M. 

ROLL CALL: Alan Andreani, Roy Clunk, Larry Dordea, Phyllis Phillips, Roger Rhome, and Larry Thompson present. 

Motion and second to excuse Councilperson Steve Okey who is out of town with business. MOTION PASSED BY ACCLAMATION OF ALL MEMBERS.

Clerk Yost read the notice of the special meeting.

All members introduced themselves and Councilman Rhome discussed the water quality and its relation to Ordinance 15-10.

Councilman Dordea addressed the report and the problems in Alliance Report.  Further discussed opposition to the Emergency language in Ordinance 15-10 and the feel of political motivation in the ordinance.

Councilwoman Phillips addressed the problems in the water and the respect for the water treatment employees.  Further addressed the intent of the Ordinance to explore all options to solve the problems and determine the best alternatives.

Councilman Thompson addressed the water quality and respect for treatment employees in their efforts.  Also addressed the intent of Ordinance 15-10 to look at all alternatives to correct water quality.

Mr. Blaser addressed the water quality report and what it included.

Councilman Andreani addressed the report and the quality related to EPA standards.

President Benincasa addressed the water quality and the President’s intent with the committee meetings related to Ordinance 15-10.  Expressed appreciation for the compilation of the report.

ADJOURNMENT: Noting no further business to come before this Council, President Benincasa adjourned the special meeting at 9:40 A.M.
