MINUTES OF THE JANUARY 18, 2005

   REGULAR MEETING OF THE ALLIANCE CITY COUNCIL

 

 

The meeting was called to order by President Benincasa at 7:00 p.m.  Councilman Combs gave the invocation and led the meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance.

ROLL CALL: Alan Andreani, Cody Combs, Phyllis Phillips, Randy Pope, Roger Rhome, Doug Schwarz and Jack Weaver present.

 

MINUTES: Motion & second to receive and file the minutes of the January 3, 2005 regular meeting of Alliance City Council: MOTION PASSED BY ACCLAMATION OF ALL MEMBERS.  Motion & second to receive and file the minutes of the January 10, 2005 special meeting of Alliance City Council: MOTION PASSED BY ACCLAMATION OF ALL MEMBERS.

 

COMMUNICATIONS:

 

  1. Expenses from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund for the Alliance Police Department for the year 2004
  2. Minutes from the December 21, 2004 Board of Zoning Appeals meeting and agenda for their January 18, 2005 meeting.
  3. Minutes from the January 3, 2005 Water and Sewer Advisory Board meeting and notice of their February 7, 2005 meeting.
  4. Agenda for the January 19, 2005 Planning Commission meeting.
  5. Letter from John Blaser to City Council members dated January 7, 2005. Re: Street lighting.

PUBLIC HEARING: 7:30 p.m. Ordinance 182-04: President Benincasa made three (3) calls for all those wishing to speak in favor of the Ordinance.  Joe Komara, Buckeye Energy Brokers reviewed the Gas Aggregation Proposal- see handout in communications; President Benincasa made three (3) calls for all those wishing to speak in opposition to the Ordinance.  Upon observing no response by any to speak in opposition to the Ordinance, President Benincasa declared the public hearing closed at 7:46 P.M.
