Deer Creek Improvement Project

Stark Parks is upgrading the boat ramp and parking lot at Deer Creek Park (http://bit.ly/deercreekreservoir).  Stark Parks has been working closely with the City of Alliance to lower the water level for the duration of the ramp concrete pouring.  The lower water level causes higher manganese levels in the raw water going to the treatment plant.  This does not affect the safety of your drinking water.  Higher levels of manganese can cause coloration of the water and negatively affect laundry.  We do not expect this to be a problem, however as a precaution we will be monitoring the manganese levels very closely.  We expect to be at the lower reservoir levels for about a month (tentatively, October 24th to November 24th).  During this time we will post the current manganese levels below:

LATEST MANGANESE LEVEL IS 0.009 MG/L.  THIS LEVEL IS EXCELLENT (Laundry won't be affected)
